Payment Policy

No Excuses Fragrances has served Alberta since 2001, both in our stores and online. This policy explains which payment methods we accept, how your payment information is protected, and how charges and refunds are handled. It applies to orders placed on noexcusesfragrances.ca and, where noted, to purchases made at our retail locations.

Every method available to you is shown at checkout. If the option you want to use does not appear, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and we will help where we can.

In store

Our four Alberta locations accept cash, Interac debit, and all major credit cards. Payment methods that rely on an online checkout, including Shop Pay Installments and PayPal, are not available at our retail counters. Gift cards purchased on this website can only be redeemed online and cannot be used in store.

Currency and taxes

All prices on this website are listed and charged in Canadian Dollars (CAD). If your card or account is based in another currency, your bank or payment provider will apply its own exchange rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. Those charges come from your provider and are outside our control.

Applicable Canadian sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address. Orders shipped within Alberta are subject to 5 percent GST. Orders shipped to other provinces are charged at that province's applicable GST, HST or PST rate.

Payment security

Our checkout is hosted and secured by Shopify, which is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant. Payment details are encrypted in transit using industry standard SSL and TLS encryption. No Excuses Fragrances never sees, stores, or has access to your full card or banking information at any point during or after a transaction.

Authorization and order confirmation

Your payment is authorized when you place your order and charged once the order is confirmed. If a payment is declined or cannot be processed, the order will not be completed and you will be prompted to use another method.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where we suspect fraud, cannot verify payment or billing details, or where the order breaches our Terms of Service. If we cancel a confirmed order, any amount charged is refunded in full to the original payment method.

Because our website and store inventory are not synced in real time, an item may occasionally sell out after an order is placed. If that happens we will contact you and either refund the item or arrange a substitute, whichever you prefer.

Gift cards

Gift cards purchased on this website are for online use only and can be redeemed at checkout on noexcusesfragrances.ca. They cannot be used at our retail locations. Our gift cards do not expire, cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law, and lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced without proof of purchase.

Refunds

Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Processing times vary by provider and typically take five to ten business days to appear on your statement. Full details on returns, exchanges and eligibility are set out in our Refund Policy.
